About the Opportunity
A well-established and growing architecture and engineering consultancy is seeking a Senior Highway Project Manager to lead transportation infrastructure projects in the Baltimore region. This role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact through the design and delivery of roadway, sidewalk, and intersection improvements, including urban and rural highways, interstates, interchanges, traffic systems, and ADA-compliant infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of highway, bridge, and traffic-related projects.
- Prepare concept alignments, geometric layouts, maintenance of traffic (MOT) plans, and ADA-compliant designs.
- Manage project deliverables including plans, reports, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Supervise and mentor engineering staff and technicians.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and external partners.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for clients and stakeholders.
- Ensure quality control and compliance with applicable standards and guidelines.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (required); Master's degree a plus.
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in highway design and project management.
- Familiarity with state DOT specifications and guidelines.
- Proficiency in MicroStation (preferred), AutoCAD, or Civil 3D.
- Experience with roadway modeling tools such as Inroads or OpenRoads.
- Strong understanding of AASHTO policies and design standards.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Valid driver's license.
