A leading MEP consulting firm based in New York City is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Associate Mechanical Engineer to support its growing portfolio of complex healthcare and mission-critical data center projects. About the Role:

As an Associate Mechanical Engineer, you will play a key leadership role in the design and delivery of mechanical systems for healthcare facilities and data centers. You'll work closely with multidisciplinary teams to develop high-performance HVAC and mechanical solutions that meet stringent technical, regulatory, and operational requirements. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to some of the most technically challenging and rewarding projects in the industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead mechanical design efforts for healthcare and data center projects from concept through construction.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders including architects, electrical engineers, and clients.
  • Oversee the preparation of mechanical drawings, specifications, and system calculations.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and sustainability goals.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team development.
  • Participate in project meetings, site visits, and construction administration activities.
  • Support project budgeting, scheduling, and quality control processes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in mechanical design, with a strong focus on healthcare and/or data center projects.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred or in progress.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and mechanical system modeling software.
  • Deep understanding of ASHRAE standards, NFPA codes, and healthcare facility guidelines.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
