A leading commercial mechanical contractor is seeking a Lead HVAC Service Technician to join its growing Austin team. This role is ideal for a seasoned technician with strong technical expertise, leadership experience, and a passion for delivering exceptional service to commercial clients.
What You'll Do
- Lead daily service operations and provide technical guidance to field technicians
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair commercial HVAC equipment
- Perform and oversee preventative maintenance programs
- Support scheduling, job execution, and quality control efforts
- Build strong relationships with customers and serve as a trusted technical advisor
- Identify repair, retrofit, and replacement opportunities
- Maintain accurate service documentation and reporting
- Ensure all work is completed safely and efficiently
What We're Looking For
- 8+ years of commercial HVAC service experience
- Demonstrated experience leading crews, mentoring technicians, or acting as a technical lead
- Strong knowledge of RTUs, split systems, VRF systems, chillers, boilers, pumps, and controls
- Proven troubleshooting and diagnostic capabilities
- EPA Certification required
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Strong customer-facing communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with large commercial facilities, healthcare, industrial, office, or mission-critical environments
- BAS/Controls experience
- Manufacturer certifications and advanced technical training
- Previous experience supporting service sales or identifying project opportunities
