Illinois | Bridge Structural Engineer
I'm working with a highly respected employee-owned engineering consulting firm that is looking to add a Bridge Structural Engineer to its growing transportation team in Illinois. This is an opportunity to work on a diverse range of bridge, retaining wall, and transportation infrastructure projects across multiple states while collaborating with experienced engineers and multidisciplinary teams.
What You'll Be Doing
- Design bridges, retaining walls, and related transportation structures.
- Prepare plans and specifications in accordance with IDOT, Illinois Tollway, AASHTO, and other DOT standards.
- Participate in Phase I and Phase II transportation projects for state and local agency clients.
- Perform structural inspections, evaluations, plan reviews, and engineering studies.
- Support transportation, construction, and design-build projects throughout the firm's service area.
- Collaborate with engineers and project teams across multiple offices and disciplines.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
- 5+ years of structural engineering experience with a focus on transportation infrastructure.
- Experience preparing structural design plans and engineering studies.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage projects and responsibilities independently.
- Willingness to travel occasionally for project meetings, inspections, and client interactions.
