Indigenous Heritage Leader - Archaeologist

About the Role

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Indigenous Heritage Leader to join our client's business in Sydney. This role is integral to their mission of protecting and promoting Aboriginal cultural heritage through ethical, community-focused, and outcomes-driven heritage management.

As a senior member of their heritage practice, you will lead projects nationally, working closely with Traditional Custodians, clients, government agencies, and internal teams. You will bring your knowledge of archaeology, consulting experience, and strong local networks!

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Aboriginal heritage assessments, surveys, and reporting in accordance with NSW legislation (including the NPW Act and SEPP requirements).

  • Develop and maintain respectful and effective partnerships with Aboriginal communities across NSW.

  • Manage and deliver consulting projects from proposal to completion, including fieldwork, stakeholder engagement, and client reporting.

  • Provide strategic advice to clients regarding Aboriginal cultural heritage compliance and best practice.

  • Mentor and support junior heritage consultants and Aboriginal field officers.

  • Contribute to business development and thought leadership within the cultural heritage sector.
