Position Summary

Our client is a leading international energy trading organization with a strong presence across global power and commodity markets. They are seeking an experienced Physical Power Trader to develop and expand their Japan power trading business while supporting growth across the APAC region.

Responsibilities

Develop and manage Japan physical power trading portfolios to drive profitability.
Execute physical and proprietary trading strategies across JPEX and OTC markets.
Negotiate contracts, conduct due diligence, and execute complex energy transactions.
Collaborate with regional trading teams to expand products, counterparties, and market opportunities.

Requirements

Experience in physical power trading within the Japanese electricity market.
Strong knowledge of JPEX, OTC power markets, scheduling operations, and balancing mechanisms.
Understanding of hedging strategies, power market fundamentals, renewable energy, and fuel markets.
Business-level English and native or fluent Japanese communication skills.
