The Role
A practice leadership position for a senior civil engineer ready to build and lead a land development team from the ground up in Los Angeles. You'll have direct backing from executive leadership, an existing regional portfolio to leverage, and full ownership of business development and team growth in a newly established operation.
Responsibilities
- Drive business development by developing new client relationships and maintaining existing ones
- Lead civil design efforts across all phases from concept through construction
- Design and permit residential, commercial, institutional, warehouse/distribution, and mixed-use projects
- Integrate geotechnical and environmental engineering into land development workflows
- Work closely with regional leadership on growth planning and staff utilization
- Oversee site layout, grading, drainage, infrastructure, and erosion and sediment control
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
- PE license
- 12+ years of site/civil land development engineering experience
- Strong business development and client management track record
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Experience in technical and proposal writing
- Active participation in professional organizations
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Preferred Qualifications
- Established client relationships in the Los Angeles or broader Southern California market
- Experience building or growing a regional practice
- Background across a variety of project types and scales
Compensation
- Base compensation between $150K-$200K and additional bonuses
