Lead Estimator
About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced Lead EPC Estimator to join our team and drive the development of competitive, accurate, and comprehensive estimates for large-scale Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) projects. This role is critical to our success in securing and executing complex utility infrastructure projects across transmission, distribution, substation, and renewable sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end estimating process for EPC bids, including scope review, quantity take-offs, cost analysis, and risk assessment.
- Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to develop integrated project estimates.
- Analyze historical data and market trends to ensure competitive pricing.
- Prepare detailed estimate packages and present to executive leadership and clients.
- Support proposal development and participate in bid strategy sessions.
- Maintain and improve estimating tools, databases, and workflows.
- Mentor junior estimators and contribute to team development.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in estimating within the EPC or utility construction industry.
- Proven track record of leading estimates for multi-million dollar projects.
- Strong understanding of transmission, distribution, substation, or renewable energy scopes.
- Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., InEight, HeavyBid, Sage Estimating, or similar).
- Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
Preferred Attributes
- Experience with design-build or turnkey EPC delivery models.
- Familiarity with regional labor rates, material pricing, and subcontractor networks.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
