The Opportunity

A leading provider of integrated technology and low voltage solutions is seeking a Low Voltage Designer / Estimator to support the delivery of complex infrastructure projects. This is an opportunity for a technically strong professional to take ownership of both project design and pre-construction efforts, working across structured cabling, fiber, security, and network systems.


Role Overview

In this role, you will play a critical part in both the planning and execution of low voltage projects. You will be responsible for performing site surveys, developing accurate estimates and designs, and supporting project delivery through closeout. This position blends technical design expertise with hands-on coordination, partnering closely with project managers, field teams, and clients to ensure successful project outcomes.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform site surveys to assess project requirements and develop tailored low voltage solutions
  • Prepare detailed take-offs, estimates, and bills of materials for structured cabling, fiber optic, access control, and surveillance systems
  • Develop scopes of work and complete cost proposals, including labor and material pricing
  • Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and technical drawings
  • Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors to obtain accurate pricing and support project bids
  • Prepare and submit project documentation including submittals and as-built drawings

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in low voltage systems design, estimating, or installation
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Experience performing take-offs, developing estimates, and preparing proposals
  • Solid understanding of building codes, electrical codes, and industry standards
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Visio)
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • RCDD certification or equivalent experience
  • Experience coordinating with contractors and managing project scopes from pre-construction through closeout
  • Familiarity with multiple low voltage systems including AV, security, and networking

Work Environment

  • Combination of office-based design/estimating work and field/site visits
  • Occasional travel to project sites as needed
  • Collaborative environment working with cross-functional teams

Compensation

  • $110,000 - $120,000 base salary
