Mechanical Engineer - Aerospace & Industrial

Position Summary

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join a multidisciplinary engineering team supporting the design and execution of complex projects across the aerospace, industrial, manufacturing, healthcare, transportation, government, and commercial sectors. This individual will contribute throughout the project lifecycle, from conceptual design through construction support, while collaborating with project managers, engineers, and clients to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform mechanical design and engineering for projects from concept through final design.
  • Develop, modify, and review engineering drawings, specifications, and documentation.
  • Design mechanical systems and components based on project requirements and objectives.
  • Apply engineering principles, industry standards, codes, and best practices to project work.
  • Conduct research and compile technical data to support project development.
  • Update and revise drawings using CAD and BIM software under the direction of senior engineers.
  • Assist with client presentations, shop drawing reviews, and construction administration activities.
  • Participate in field inspections, site evaluations, measurements, and engineering assessments.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure project goals are achieved.
  • Maintain compliance with company policies, quality standards, and safety requirements.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline from an accredited program.
  • Minimum of 3 years of mechanical engineering experience, preferably within a consulting environment.

Alternative Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology or a related field from an accredited program, plus successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam and a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.

Technical Skills & Experience

  • Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, methods, and design practices.
  • Experience preparing engineering calculations, drawings, and specifications.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit/BIM platforms, 3D modeling software, HVAC analysis software, and hydraulic analysis tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.
  • Previous consulting engineering experience.
  • Experience supporting projects in aerospace, industrial, manufacturing, healthcare, transportation, government, or commercial facilities.

Additional Information

  • Travel required up to approximately 25%.
