Mechanical HVAC Engineer
A well-established, employee-owned architecture, engineering, and construction firm with over a century of experience is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join its growing MEP team in New York City. With a strong presence in Chicago, New York, Raleigh, and Warsaw, this firm is recognized for delivering creative, sustainable, and community-centered design solutions across a wide range of building types.
About the Role:
In this role, you will work alongside a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team to design innovative HVAC systems for projects in the commercial, institutional, educational, hospitality, government, residential, retail, and industrial sectors. A strong working knowledge of Revit and BIM is essential, along with the ability to coordinate seamlessly with other design disciplines.
Key Responsibilities:
Design HVAC systems, including airside ductwork and hydronic piping
Produce high-quality construction documents in compliance with codes and standards
Collaborate with architects, engineers, and consultants across disciplines
Support senior engineers in design development and project coordination
Participate in meetings and contribute to technical discussions
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering (mechanical emphasis)
2-4 years of experience in a consulting engineering environment
Solid understanding of HVAC system design fundamentals
Familiarity with plumbing, fire protection, and process piping a plus
Proficiency with Revit and HVAC design software (Trane Trace, Carrier HAP, etc.)
Strong written and verbal communication skills
LEED Accreditation preferred
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
