Senior Project Manager - Mechanical Contracting

Location: Columbus, OH
Employment Type: Full-Time
Compensation: $120,000-$160,000 base + discretionary bonus (~10%)

About the Role:
A leading mechanical contractor with over a century of industry excellence is seeking a Senior Project Manager (SPM) to support its rapidly growing Ohio operations. This role is ideal for a seasoned leader with strong experience in mechanical construction, particularly in data centers, healthcare, and lab environments. The company is union-affiliated and values long-term growth, collaboration, and leadership development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead mechanical construction projects up to $30M, including HVAC, plumbing, and sheet metal scopes.
  • Manage project teams, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure timely and high-quality delivery.
  • Provide mentorship to Project Engineers and Project Managers, fostering strong management fundamentals.
  • Collaborate with estimating and field teams to support preconstruction and execution phases.
  • Drive client relationships and represent the company with professionalism and responsiveness.
  • Contribute to strategic growth initiatives and help build vertical leadership structures.

Qualifications:

  • 10-20 years of experience in mechanical contracting, with proven leadership in projects up to $30M.
  • Strong familiarity with regional GC partners (e.g., Holder, Turner).
  • Experience in mission-critical, healthcare, and lab environments preferred.
  • Ability to lead teams of 3-5 direct reports or provide direction to project teams.
  • Excellent communication, responsiveness, and team-oriented mindset.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred but not required; experience and leadership are prioritized.
