Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced Associate Project Director to oversee the delivery of large-scale construction projects from planning through completion. This role is responsible for providing strategic leadership, managing project teams, overseeing budgets and schedules, ensuring quality and safety compliance, and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships. The successful candidate will drive project performance while ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, execution, and successful delivery of multiple construction projects.
  • Define project objectives, scope, and delivery strategies aligned with business goals.
  • Manage and mentor project teams, contractors, suppliers, and external stakeholders.
  • Monitor project progress, budgets, schedules, and resource allocation.
  • Identify project risks and implement effective mitigation plans.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, authorities, and key project stakeholders.
  • Support project development activities, including site assessments and tender responses.
  • Oversee project documentation, reporting, testing, commissioning, and handover activities.
  • Collaborate closely with commercial, finance, operations, and technical teams to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, risk awareness, and operational excellence.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience managing large-scale construction projects, preferably within mission-critical or complex infrastructure environments.
  • Proven leadership experience managing multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Strong understanding of construction delivery processes, project controls, and industry best practices.
  • Knowledge of civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, and electrical systems.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong analytical, financial, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Facilities Management, or a related discipline.
  • Significant project management experience within construction or infrastructure delivery.
  • Experience covering the full project lifecycle, from mobilisation through commissioning and handover.
  • Professional certifications are advantageous.
  • Proficiency in English; additional language capabilities are beneficial.
