Job Title: MES Engineer (Ignition Specialist)
Location: Flexible (Remote or On-site based on project needs)
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced MES Engineer with strong expertise in Ignition by Inductive Automation to design, implement, and optimize Manufacturing Execution Systems. This role involves integrating MES solutions with SCADA, PLCs, and enterprise systems to enable real-time visibility and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Development:
- Configure and deploy MES solutions using Ignition (Vision, Perspective, Tag Historian, SQL Bridge, Reporting, Alarm Notification, WebDev).
- Implement MES functionalities such as OEE, Track & Trace, and Recipe Management using Sepasoft modules.
Integration & Optimization:
- Integrate MES with SCADA, PLCs, ERP, and other business systems using OPC UA, MQTT, and REST APIs.
- Develop SQL queries and manage databases for MES data storage and reporting.
Project Execution:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, create design specifications, and execute commissioning activities.
- Ensure compliance with industrial standards and cybersecurity best practices.
Support & Maintenance:
- Provide troubleshooting, performance tuning, and lifecycle documentation.
- Train client teams on MES functionalities and best practices.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Computer, or Industrial Engineering, or related field.
Technical Skills:
- Hands-on experience with Ignition by Inductive Automation (minimum one full implementation project).
- Strong knowledge of MES concepts, SCADA systems, PLCs, and industrial automation.
- Proficiency in Python scripting, SQL, and industrial communication protocols.
- Familiarity with Sepasoft MES modules and Cirrus Link MQTT extensions is a plus.
Soft Skills:
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.
- Ability to work independently and in agile teams.
Preferred Experience
- Industry experience in pharmaceuticals, food & beverage, or automotive manufacturing.
- Knowledge of DevOps practices for MES deployments (CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes).
