Mid-Level / Senior Electrical Engineer
An employee-owned engineering consulting firm is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support industrial, power generation, mining, and water/wastewater projects. This hybrid position offers the opportunity to work on diverse electrical power and control system designs while collaborating with mechanical, process, and controls engineering teams.
The role includes technical design, project management, client interaction, team leadership, mentoring, and business development responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Engineering
- Design and analyze electrical power and control systems for industrial facilities and infrastructure projects.
- Prepare engineering plans, specifications, technical reports, and cost estimates.
- Develop electrical systems from concept through detailed design.
- Integrate electrical requirements with process, mechanical, and controls disciplines.
Project Management
- Develop proposals, scopes of work, budgets, schedules, and project deliverables.
- Coordinate and execute projects while maintaining cost and schedule objectives.
- Communicate project status and milestones with clients and internal teams.
Leadership & Mentoring
- Provide guidance and technical leadership to junior engineering staff.
- Support employee development through mentoring and training.
Client & Team Collaboration
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and project stakeholders.
- Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams to develop practical engineering solutions.
- Participate in business development and client engagement activities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience performing electrical design for industrial or infrastructure projects.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain licensure within one year.
- Strong communication, technical writing, and interpersonal skills.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel as required.
- Authorization to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- 10+ years of relevant electrical engineering experience.
- Experience with industrial facility design, power plants, mining operations, or water/wastewater facilities.
- Knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and regulations.
- Experience using AutoCAD.
- Experience with power system analysis software such as ETAP or SKM.
- Familiarity with PLC and HMI platforms, particularly industrial automation systems.
- Startup and commissioning experience.
- Demonstrated project management and client development capabilities.
Work Environment & Travel
- Hybrid work arrangement available, combining office and remote work.
- Approximately 10-15% travel for field visits and project support.
- Occasional work at industrial facilities and construction sites.
- Ability to perform site visits in active industrial environments.
