Mid-Level Structural Engineer
A well-established, employee-owned consulting engineering firm is seeking a Structural Engineer (EIT) to join its growing structural team. This opportunity is ideal for an engineer with 3+ years of structural design experience who has successfully passed the FE/EIT exam and is actively pursuing Professional Engineer (PE) licensure.
The successful candidate will work alongside experienced structural engineers on a diverse range of building projects, gaining exposure to structural analysis, design, client interaction, and construction-phase services. This role offers a strong technical foundation, direct mentorship from senior engineers, and a clear pathway for career advancement.
Responsibilities
- Perform structural analysis and design for new and existing building structures.
- Prepare engineering calculations, technical reports, and construction documents.
- Develop structural plans and details using industry-standard design software.
- Coordinate with architects, contractors, owners, and other engineering disciplines.
- Participate in site visits, field observations, and construction administration activities.
- Review shop drawings and assist with responding to contractor RFIs.
- Support project managers with project execution, scheduling, and client coordination.
- Contribute to a collaborative, team-oriented engineering environment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Minimum 3 years of structural engineering experience.
- FE/EIT certification required.
- Actively working toward PE licensure.
- Experience designing building structures using steel, concrete, masonry, and/or wood.
- Familiarity with structural analysis and design software.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
