Job Title: Midwest Lead Geotechnical Engineer
Location: Indianapolis, Evansville, St. Louis, Cincinnati, or Columbus (Hybrid: Work from Home & Office)
Preferred License: Indiana Professional Engineer (PE)
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Lead Geotechnical Engineer to oversee and grow geotechnical operations across the Midwest region. This leadership role combines technical expertise with strategic vision, ensuring high-quality project delivery and client satisfaction. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in geotechnical engineering and a proven ability to manage teams and complex projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead geotechnical engineering projects from concept through completion, ensuring technical excellence and compliance with industry standards.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers and technical staff.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships, serving as a trusted advisor for geotechnical solutions.
- Oversee site investigations, laboratory testing, and analysis for soil and foundation conditions.
- Prepare and review geotechnical reports, proposals, and design recommendations.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated project solutions.
- Drive business development initiatives within the Midwest region.
- Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering.
- Indiana PE License strongly preferred; PE in other states is a plus.
- Minimum 10 years of geotechnical engineering experience, including leadership roles.
- Expertise in soil mechanics, foundation design, slope stability, and ground improvement techniques.
- Strong project management and client-facing skills.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
Work Environment
- Hybrid schedule: combination of remote work and in-office collaboration.
- Travel within the Midwest region as required for project needs.
