Municipal Project Engineer - Portland, Oregon
Overview:
 This engineering position involves developing designs of varying complexity for infrastructure projects. The role includes planning and analysis of site layouts, grading, drainage, water and wastewater systems, and stormwater. 
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop engineering designs for civil infrastructure including water distribution, wastewater collection, stormwater systems, and site development.
- Review designs to ensure alignment with local, state, and national regulations.
- Conduct site visits and assessments to validate design feasibility and accuracy.
- Update design parameters based on field conditions and evolving project needs.
- Prepare technical documentation and contribute to internal knowledge-sharing initiatives.
- Draft and review proposals in response to client requests and project opportunities.
- Participate in client meetings to discuss current and future project needs.
- Attend industry events to support visibility and networking efforts.
- Provide guidance and training to junior staff and support their professional development.
- May oversee the work of junior engineers on assigned projects.
- Perform additional duties as needed to support project delivery.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification, but PE preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant engineering experience.
- Willingness to travel domestically based on project requirements (approx. 10%).
- Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
Skills and Competencies:
- Proficiency in 3D/4D computer-aided design and drafting tools.
- Strong understanding of engineering design principles and regulatory frameworks.
- Familiarity with standard business software (e.g., spreadsheets, word processing).
- Ability to mentor and support junior staff in technical and professional growth.
Salary:
~ $100,000 - $120,000, depending on experience and qualifications
