Position Overview

An innovative energy trading and renewable power company is seeking a Physical Power Trader to develop and execute data-driven trading strategies in Japan's evolving electricity markets. This role is ideal for candidates who combine power market knowledge with quantitative analytics, forecasting, and algorithmic decision-making.

Responsibilities

Execute physical power trading strategies across Japanese electricity markets (JEPX, intraday, balancing, and ancillary services).
Develop and utilize quantitative models for price forecasting, demand forecasting, and renewable generation optimization.
Analyze large datasets to identify market opportunities and improve trading performance.
Collaborate with technology and analytics teams to enhance automated and algorithmic trading capabilities.

Requirements (One or More)

Experience in physical power trading, electricity market operations, or energy market analytics.
Strong understanding of Japanese power markets and market mechanisms.
Data-driven decision-making experience using Python, SQL, R, MATLAB, or similar tools.
Experience with forecasting, optimization, battery trading, VPPs, or renewable asset dispatch.
