About the Role

In this senior leadership position, you will:

  • Lead and manage complex aquatic ecology projects across freshwater, estuarine, and marine environments.
  • Provide strategic ecological advice to clients across government, infrastructure, mining, and water sectors.
  • Design and oversee field programs, ecological assessments, and monitoring studies.
  • Mentor and support a talented team of ecologists and scientists.
  • Contribute to business development, client engagement, and proposal preparation.

What They're Looking For

  • A degree (preferably postgraduate) in aquatic ecology, marine biology, environmental science, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in applied aquatic ecology, ideally within a consulting or regulatory environment.
  • Strong technical expertise in freshwater and/or marine systems, including ecological risk assessment and environmental impact assessment.
  • Proven leadership and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
