Professional Land Surveyor (PLS)
The Professional Land Surveyor will be responsible for:
- Managing and overseeing land surveying projects from initial scope through final deliverables
- Leading field crews and office staff to ensure accurate data collection, processing, and reporting
- Reviewing plats, boundary surveys, ALTA/NSPS surveys, and construction staking for quality and compliance
- Coordinating with internal engineering teams, project managers, and external clients
- Ensuring all work adheres to state regulations, safety standards, and company procedures
- Supporting proposal development, including scope definition and budgeting
- Mentoring junior surveyors and contributing to team development
The Professional Land Surveyor should have the following qualifications:
- Active North Carolina Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license (or ability to obtain via reciprocity)
- 5+ years of progressive experience in land surveying, including project oversight
- Strong knowledge of boundary law, survey standards, and field-to-finish workflows
- Experience with survey software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, Carlson, or similar
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Strong communication skills with both internal teams and external clients
- Leadership experience or desire to step into a leadership-focused role
