About the Company
Our client is a growing commercial façade and glazing contractor specializing in the design-assist, coordination, and installation of complex building envelope systems. Their work includes curtain wall, storefront, architectural glazing, metal panel, rainscreen, terracotta cladding, louver, and sunshade systems on commercial, institutional, mixed-use, healthcare, and government projects throughout the Washington DC Metro area.
Key Responsibilities
Estimating & Preconstruction
- Review construction drawings, specifications, and bid documents.
- Perform quantity takeoffs for curtain wall, storefront, glazing, metal panels, louvers, and other building envelope systems.
- Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing.
- Assist in preparing budgets, conceptual estimates, and hard-bid proposals.
- Identify scope gaps, exclusions, risks, and value engineering opportunities.
- Participate in bid reviews and project handoff meetings.
- Maintain subcontractor and supplier relationships.
Project Engineering & Operations
- Support Project Managers in the execution of commercial façade and glazing projects.
- Prepare and track RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, change orders, and project documentation.
- Coordinate with architects, consultants, general contractors, suppliers, and field personnel.
- Assist with procurement and material tracking.
- Monitor project schedules, milestones, and deliverables.
- Attend project meetings and maintain meeting records.
- Conduct job site visits and assist with field coordination.
- Track project costs, budgets, and financial performance.
- Support project closeout activities, punch list completion, warranties, and turnover documentation.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and contractual requirements.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred.
- 2-5+ years of experience in construction estimating, project engineering, project coordination, or project management.
- Experience within façade, glazing, curtain wall, cladding, architectural metals, or building envelope construction is highly preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Strong understanding of commercial construction practices and project delivery methods.
- Proficiency with Bluebeam, OST, Planswift, Procore, Microsoft Office, or similar construction software.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment.

The ideal candidate will come from a commercial glazing, façade, curtain wall, architectural metals, or building envelope contractor and have experience supporting both estimating and project execution functions.
