Project Manager / Engineer (Industrial & Waste Water Projects)
My client is seeking an experienced Project Manager to deliver complex industrial water and wastewater treatment projects across Australia. This is an opportunity to take ownership of multidisciplinary projects from design through to commissioning and handover while working with a highly experienced team in a sector experiencing strong long-term growth. This role is ideal for a Project Manager with a proven background delivering client-facing construction, process, water, wastewater, or industrial infrastructure projects.
The Opportunity
You will be responsible for the successful delivery of projects, ensuring they are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage projects from contract award through to commissioning and handover
- Lead project planning, procurement, scheduling, and budget control
- Oversee design coordination, engineering deliverables, and technical reviews
- Manage subcontractors, suppliers, and site activities
- Monitor project cash flow, forecasting, and milestone payments
- Ensure compliance with WHS, Environmental, Quality, and contractual requirements
- Coordinate commissioning activities and client handover
- Work closely with technical, engineering, and drafting teams to achieve project outcomes
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders
About You
Essential Requirements
- 6-10+ years of project delivery experience / 1-3 years for Project engineers
- Demonstrated experience managing client-facing construction or infrastructure projects
- Strong project management experience across both office and site environments
- Experience delivering fixed-price contracts
- Knowledge of Australian contract standards
- Strong commercial, procurement, and financial management skills
- Excellent stakeholder and leadership capabilities
- Full Australian working rights and local project delivery experience
Highly Desirable
- Water or wastewater treatment project experience
- Process engineering or treatment plant delivery background
- Experience delivering industrial infrastructure projects
- Commissioning and handover experience
