We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Project Manager to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives from conception through completion. This role requires strategic thinking, operational excellence, and a collaborative mindset to drive successful outcomes across diverse sectors.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management

  • Provide strategic guidance from project inception, advising on methodologies to achieve overarching client objectives.
  • Define and lead the establishment of success criteria, including time, cost, quality, and performance benchmarks.
  • Oversee quality assurance, safety, health, and environmental planning throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Implement robust governance frameworks, processes, and systems to ensure project integrity and transparency.
  • Develop and manage comprehensive project plans, ensuring alignment with stakeholder expectations.
  • Advise on resource procurement strategies and support vendor selection.
  • Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary project teams, fostering collaboration and accountability.
  • Apply performance management tools, including KPIs, to monitor and enhance project delivery.
  • Manage change control processes and ensure timely resolution of scope adjustments.
  • Monitor project financials, providing insights and recommendations to maintain budgetary discipline.
  • Facilitate effective communication between internal teams and clients through structured meetings and documentation.
  • Produce formal progress reports and ensure timely updates to all stakeholders.
  • Serve as the primary interface with clients and consultants across all project phases.

Business Development & Marketing

  • Drive business growth by identifying opportunities with existing and prospective clients.
  • Recognize and act on cross-selling opportunities across service lines.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to develop compelling proposals and bids.
  • Represent the organization at client meetings, industry events, and marketing engagements.
  • Maintain and update project case studies, visual assets, and team credentials.
  • Continuously improve project management tools, templates, and methodologies to enhance client service.
  • Identify and pursue cross-divisional collaboration opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of project management experience, ideally in a leadership capacity.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Japanese and English (spoken and written) is essential.
  • Deep understanding of the full project lifecycle, from strategic planning to post-completion review.
  • Sector experience in hospitality, leisure, or education is highly advantageous.
  • Strong knowledge of permitting and regulatory processes for new developments and building use changes.
  • Proficiency in project management principles, tools, and techniques.
  • Proven track record managing medium to large-scale construction projects with moderate to high complexity.
  • Solid grasp of technical aspects of the construction industry, including procurement strategies and value engineering.
  • Experience in team leadership and people management within project delivery contexts.
  • Financial acumen in managing project budgets and cost control.
  • Membership in a recognized professional body is preferred.
  • Experience in business development and client relationship management is a plus.
