Project Manager

A growing industrial automation team is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee controls‑focused projects in the Raleigh, NC area. If you excel at navigating complex technical challenges and turning them into successful outcomes for customers, this role may be a strong match.

This position is based on-site at our Raleigh, North Carolina office.


Responsibilities

  • Lead multiple trades and project scopes while ensuring work is completed within defined budgets and timelines.
  • Provide direction, technical insight, and support to project teams and field crews.
  • Maintain a strong safety mindset by communicating and upholding all jobsite safety expectations.
  • Prepare detailed proposals and scopes of work using project estimates.
  • Drive project performance to meet or exceed financial targets and schedule commitments.
  • Identify and resolve issues from project initiation through final closeout.
  • Coordinate purchasing of equipment, materials, and related components.
  • Participate in jobsite visits, internal meetings, and customer discussions as required.
  • Ensure projects are closed out with a focus on profitability, quality, and customer satisfaction.
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with clients and internal partners through reliable, high-quality project execution.
  • Track sales activities, manage opportunities, and maintain accurate forecasting in CRM systems.
  • Conduct routine visits to both active jobsites and customer facilities.

Position Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in industrial electrical controls or related technical trades.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to obtain OSHA-30 certification within six months if not already completed.
  • Background in electrical installation, system integration, or team supervision is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Understanding of electrical design practices and estimating-especially within food processing, manufacturing, or similar industries.
  • Familiarity with industrial automation, control system integration, UL 508A panel fabrication, and related equipment markets.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, control diagrams, and power distribution drawings.
  • Strong analytical, leadership, communication, and financial management capabilities.
  • Experience managing schedules, coordinating trades, and meeting customer deadlines.
  • Comfortable presenting information to internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent organizational skills to navigate competing priorities and support multiple customer demands.
  • Ability to learn and promote other technical or operational offerings within the business.
  • Effective negotiation skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Capable of managing multiple projects, anticipating changes, and adjusting plans accordingly.
  • Clear communicator who can work confidently with individuals at all levels-internal and external.
  • Experience supervising 10+ personnel is beneficial.
  • Strong team-first mindset with the ability to collaborate and communicate effectively.
  • Proficiency with common office software tools, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Google Workspace (Sheets, Docs, Gmail, Drive).

Working Conditions

  • Work will take place in an office environment, at home when needed, and on customer/job sites.
  • Long periods of standing or sitting may be required.
  • Fieldwork may involve exposure to noise, dust, outdoor elements, and physical tasks such as climbing, kneeling, or navigating uneven surfaces.
