A leading General Contractor specializing in water and wastewater infrastructure is seeking a Construction Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of treatment plants, pump stations, lift stations, and utility infrastructure projects throughout North Carolina.
This position offers the opportunity to manage large-scale municipal projects from preconstruction through closeout while working alongside experienced operations and field teams. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical knowledge of water and wastewater construction, excellent leadership skills, and a proven track record of delivering projects safely, on schedule, and within budget.
Responsibilities
- Manage all phases of water and wastewater construction projects from award through final completion.
- Oversee project budgets, schedules, cost reporting, and forecasting.
- Lead subcontractor procurement, buyout, and contract administration efforts.
- Coordinate with municipalities, engineers, owners, inspectors, and project stakeholders.
- Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, pay applications, and project documentation.
- Support field teams and superintendents to ensure safe and efficient project execution.
- Monitor project performance, productivity, quality control, and financial outcomes.
- Drive project schedules and proactively resolve risks and construction challenges.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships to support repeat business opportunities.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of Project Management experience with a General Contractor.
- Experience managing water and wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, lift stations, pipelines, or utility infrastructure projects.
- Strong understanding of civil, mechanical, structural concrete, and process piping scopes.
- Knowledge of municipal construction projects and public utility work.
- Proven experience managing project budgets, schedules, and subcontractors.
- Proficiency with Procore, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, Bluebeam, or similar construction software.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred.
