Environmental Planting & Carbon Projects | New South Wales

An established natural capital and carbon investment platform is seeking a Reforestation Project Manager to lead the development and delivery of large-scale environmental planting and reforestation projects across New South Wales.

This is a rare opportunity to join a growing team at the forefront of Australia's carbon market, managing projects from acquisition and registration through to establishment, monitoring, compliance, and carbon credit generation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of environmental planting and reforestation projects under Australia's carbon market framework.
  • Conduct site assessments, feasibility reviews, land eligibility assessments, and technical due diligence activities.
  • Develop planting strategies, species selection plans, and project registration documentation.
  • Manage external contractors, consultants, and landowners through project establishment and implementation.
  • Oversee project monitoring, compliance obligations, reporting requirements, and audit preparation.
  • Coordinate stakeholder engagement with government agencies, industry bodies, landholders, and technical specialists.
  • Contribute to investment analysis, project risk assessments, and ongoing project performance reporting.

About You

  • Degree qualified in Forestry, Environmental Science, Ecology, Natural Resource Management, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering reforestation, ecological restoration, carbon, or land management projects.
  • Strong understanding of the Australian carbon market and project development lifecycle.
  • Experience with GIS platforms such as ArcGIS or QGIS.
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and complex projects across regional locations.
  • Strong technical writing, project management, and communication skills.

Desirable Experience

  • Environmental planting, carbon farming, or nature-based solutions projects.
  • Carbon accounting, sequestration methodologies, or carbon credit generation.
  • Ecological restoration and native vegetation establishment.
  • FullCAM modelling or related carbon estimation tools.
  • Experience working with agricultural or rural landholders.
