Roadway PE | Orlando, FL
The Opportunity
We're looking for a Roadway PE with 3-10 years of experience to join a growing transportation team in Orlando. This is a strong opportunity for someone who has developed solid roadway design experience and is ready to take on more ownership of projects, clients, and junior staff.
The position will support a mix of FDOT, expressway authority, municipal, and county transportation projects throughout Central Florida.
Responsibilities
- Lead and support roadway design projects from concept through final design
- Prepare and review roadway plans, specifications, estimates, and technical documentation
- Coordinate with drainage, traffic, structures, utilities, and other disciplines
- Manage project schedules, budgets, deliverables, and QA/QC
- Serve as a technical resource and mentor to junior engineers and designers
- Communicate directly with clients and agency stakeholders
- Assist with project pursuits, proposals, and future business development
- Take on increasing Project Management responsibilities as experience develops
Qualifications
- 3-10 years of roadway/highway design experience
- Florida PE license or ability to obtain through reciprocity
- Experience working on FDOT and/or Central Florida transportation projects
- Strong understanding of roadway design standards and production
- Experience with MicroStation and/or OpenRoads Designer
- Ability to independently manage design tasks and coordinate multidisciplinary teams
- Strong communication and client-facing skills
- Interest in progressing toward a Project Manager / Senior Project Manager position
