About the Role
A leading global manufacturer in the power cable and electrical infrastructure sector is seeking a driven and technically proficient Sales Manager to lead business development efforts across Australia. This role is focused on expanding market presence in the renewable energy sector-particularly wind farms and battery energy storage systems (BESS)-as well as securing product approvals and partnerships with utility distribution networks.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute sales strategies targeting renewable energy developers, EPC contractors, and utilities.
- Promote high-quality cable solutions for wind farms, BESS, and utility-scale infrastructure projects.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders including developers, consultants, and procurement teams.
- Lead efforts to secure product approvals from major distribution utilities.
- Collaborate with internal technical teams to ensure customer requirements are met with tailored solutions.
- Provide technical product knowledge and support during client meetings, tenders, and project discussions.
- Monitor market trends and competitor activity to identify new opportunities and inform strategic planning.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Proven sales experience in the electrical manufacturing industry, ideally with power cables, transformers, switchgear, or other OEM electrical products.
- Strong network within the renewables sector and/or utility distribution market in Australia.
- Technical background in electrical engineering or similar, with the ability to understand and communicate complex product specifications.
- Experience working with EPCs, developers, and utility procurement teams.
- Self-motivated, results-driven, and capable of working independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Experience with product approval processes in Australian utilities.
- Familiarity with renewable energy project lifecycles and procurement models.
