Senior Accountant - Financial Reporting

A leading owner and operator backed by a major infrastructure investment firm is seeking an Senior Accountant - Financial Reporting to join its growing finance team. This organization is a top-tier developer, owner, and operator of utility scale assets across the US, with a multi-gigawatt portfolio of operating projects and a strong development pipeline.

This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the energy transition while gaining exposure to complex technical accounting, full-cycle financial reporting, and strategic finance initiatives. The Associate will report to the Senior Manager of Technical Accounting & Financial Reporting and collaborate cross-functionally with accounting, finance, and operations teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare accounting entries and documentation for derivative instruments, renewable energy credits, and consolidation activities.
  • Assist in the preparation of consolidated and project-level financial statements, including footnotes, in compliance with SEC and US GAAP standards.
  • Support technical accounting processes related to debt, hedging, and M&A transactions.
  • Perform general ledger activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations, particularly for newly developed projects.
  • Prepare regulatory compliance certificates and ensure timely submission.
  • Contribute to special projects such as acquisitions, divestitures, and system/process improvements.
  • Maintain and update accounting policy documentation in response to new standards or operational changes.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of monthly and quarterly close processes.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external auditors to support reporting and compliance efforts.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required; Master's degree preferred.
  • CPA (or equivalent) required.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in public accounting, corporate accounting, or financial reporting.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, SOX compliance, and SEC reporting standards.
  • Experience with ERP and reporting tools such as Microsoft Dynamics, Workiva, or OneStream is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
