Senior Automation Engineer

A growing and well-established industrial automation solutions provider is seeking a skilled Automation Controls Engineer to join its team. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated professional with strong PLC and SCADA experience to work with manufacturing clients across New England. The role offers a hybrid work schedule, competitive compensation, and excellent benefits.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Program and commission control systems in the field.

  • Act as a lead engineer on projects when needed.

  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to design and implement automation solutions.

  • Produce clear technical documentation and maintain strong communication throughout the project lifecycle.


Qualifications:

  • 6-10 years of hands-on experience with PLC programming.

  • Proven ability to commission automation systems in real-world environments.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and excellent written and verbal communication.

  • Capable of functioning as a technical lead when required.


Technical Toolkits - High Proficiency Required in At Least 2 of the Following:

  • RSLogix Studio 5000, FactoryTalk View ME/SE

  • OSI PI or FactoryTalk Historian SE

  • Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word)

  • Ignition by Inductive Automation, MS SQL Server 2012, SSRS, Excel Reporter, VMware ESXi/vSphere, PlantPAx 4.0


Bonus Skills (Preferred but Not Required):

  • Programming languages such as .NET, Java, Python, VB, C++

  • Experience with OSI PI and PI Coresight

  • Industry experience in pharmaceuticals, biotech, power generation, or food & beverage

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or Chemical Engineering (field experience may be considered in lieu of a degree)


Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive salary: $120,000-$130,000

  • 401(k) with company matching

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday

  • Hybrid (2-3 days in the Hopedale, MA office)
