Due to continued project growth, they are seeking an experienced Senior Ecologist to join their expanding ecology team.
The Opportunity
Reporting into senior leadership, this role will work closely alongside an established team of ecologists and environmental specialists. The successful candidate will play a key role in project delivery, technical reporting, client engagement, and mentoring junior staff whilst contributing to the continued growth of the ecology division.
This position would suit an experienced ecologist looking to take on greater project ownership and leadership responsibilities within a supportive consultancy environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and deliver a variety of ecological assessment and environmental projects.
- Work closely with the team lead to step in, provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
- Liaise with clients, regulators, and key project stakeholders.
- Contribute to project planning, scheduling, and resource management.
- Undertake field investigations where required and provide technical oversight of field programmes.
- Support business development activities and maintain strong client relationships.
Requirements
- Degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience within ecological consulting or environmental advisory services.
- Strong understanding of NSW environmental and ecological legislation.
- Experience across flora, fauna, biodiversity, and ecological assessment projects.
- Proven project management and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Previous experience mentoring or leading junior staff is highly desirable.
- Excellent technical report writing and communication skills.
