Key Responsibilities
- Review design documents and equipment submittals for new data center projects in your region.
- Troubleshoot technical issues, perform root cause analysis, and develop corrective action plans for system or equipment failures.
- Provide operational support through training, procedure reviews, and event response for critical systems.
- Lead design efforts for upgrades that improve capacity, efficiency, and reliability.
- Collaborate with internal teams to maintain consistent standards across projects.
- Manage multiple projects concurrently, sometimes across different geographic regions.
- Conduct engineering site audits and produce risk assessments with mitigation strategies.
- Serve as the resident engineer during construction, supporting commissioning and project turnover.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Strong engineering judgment and ability to make decisions in ambiguous situations.
- Experience solving technical problems with engineered solutions.
- Proven ability to manage engineering projects and external consultants.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills across diverse stakeholders.
- Comfortable working in both office and field environments.
Preferred Experience
- Highly organized with strong prioritization and deadline management skills.
- Background in mission-critical facilities, especially data centers.
- Hands-on experience as a resident engineer or design consultant.
- Familiarity with regional building codes and regulations.
- Ability to interpret and produce construction drawings and specifications.
- Understanding of mechanical and electrical systems for data centers (UPS, generators, switchgear, chillers, cooling towers, etc.).
- Experience with EPMS, SCADA, or BMS control systems.
