Location: Bethesda, MD
Travel: 10% (local job sites)

The Opportunity:

My client is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the design of electrical systems for a variety of building projects, including healthcare, academic, industrial, and commercial facilities. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to high-profile projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design electrical systems, including lighting, power distribution, and life safety, for new construction and modernization projects.
  • Develop calculations for lighting systems and associated controls.
  • Lead project teams and serve as the primary contact for electrical engineering disciplines.
  • Perform QA/QC reviews and prepare detailed design documents.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
  • Coordinate work across multiple disciplines to ensure project success.
  • Support business development efforts by cultivating client relationships and participating in project interviews.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 8 years of design experience in electrical building systems.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Maryland, DC, and/or Virginia.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • LEED certification or experience is a plus.
  • Experience with laboratory and medical facility design preferred.
  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and MS Office.
  • Strong knowledge of codes and standards, including the National Electrical Code.
  • Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and technical mentorship capabilities.
