Senior Engineer (Power Generation)
ENGINEER II/III - POWER GENERATION (Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical)
This role supports power generation facilities by developing and maintaining plant performance monitoring programs, conducting performance testing, and optimizing the efficiency and reliability of power‑producing equipment and systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop strategies and software tools to monitor, evaluate, and improve power plant performance.
- Build and maintain computer‑based performance models for generating units to support operational efficiency.
- Support fuel evaluations and combustion performance analysis.
- Maintain plant performance databases and compile data for internal and external reporting.
- Lead performance testing programs, including heat balance and heat rate assessments.
- Conduct thermodynamic analysis of plant cycles and provide recommendations to resolve performance deviations.
- Plan and implement performance‑related capital projects and perform engineering calculations.
- Supervise contractor and vendor testing activities.
- Prepare and present project reports to internal stakeholders.
- Mentor engineering staff and participate in cross‑department initiatives.
- Maintain technical expertise through ongoing training and professional development.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Physical Sciences.
- 5+ years in project management, plant engineering, operations, or maintenance.
- Experience with power plant performance analysis, modeling, and software tools.
- Strong communication and technical reporting skills.
- Ability to oversee personnel and collaborate across departments.
- Eligible for Professional Engineering licensure.
- Valid driver's license.
Work Conditions
- Indoor and outdoor environments with exposure to heat, cold, noise, rotating machinery, electrical systems, and high‑pressure equipment.
- Some work at heights and around hazardous conditions.
