Position Overview

The organization is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to support its expanding operations in Nashville. This role involves leading geotechnical investigations, performing advanced analyses, managing multidisciplinary teams, and supporting client needs across Tennessee and surrounding regions.

The position spans the full project lifecycle-from planning and field exploration through analysis, design, reporting, and construction‑phase services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage geotechnical engineering projects from concept to completion
  • Plan and oversee field investigations, drilling operations, and laboratory testing
  • Perform geotechnical analyses including settlement, slope stability, deep foundations, retaining structures, and rock mechanics
  • Support engineering evaluations and design for deep‑tunnel and underground structures
  • Prepare high‑quality technical reports, recommendations, and construction documentation
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers, technicians, and drill crews
  • Interface with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering (Master's preferred)
  • Active Professional Engineer (P.E.) license
  • 7-12+ years of geotechnical engineering experience
  • Strong background in soil and rock mechanics, deep foundations, and geotechnical analysis
  • Experience managing drilling programs, field crews, and lab workflows
  • Excellent communication and technical writing skills
  • Proven ability to lead project teams and engage with clients
