Role Responsibilities:
- Work on multi-disciplinary engineering and design teams to develop mechanical layout drawings in 3D models.
- Design mechanical systems and troubleshoot a variety of design issues.
- Use 3D modeling software to create mechanical schematics.
- Coordinate detailed design phases across integrated mechanical models.
- Support other designers and project team members to ensure timely and complete deliverables.
- Independently plan and execute mechanical design outputs such as general arrangements, piping isometrics, composites, support drawings, and equipment layouts.
- Participate in field walkdowns and data collection at client sites.
- Mentor junior designers and provide guidance on drafting tools.
Qualifications:
- U.S. work authorization is required; sponsorship is not available.
- Associate's degree in drafting or equivalent technical experience.
- 10+ years of experience in mechanical design, including piping systems and supports.
- Proficiency in 3D plant layout modeling software.
- Experience reviewing mechanical equipment outlines and coordinating related deliverables.
- Ability to collaborate with cross-disciplinary engineering and design teams.
Preferred (but not required):
- Experience with MicroStation.
- Familiarity with laser scanning and point cloud data.
