About the Role
A leading firm specializing in mission-critical infrastructure is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join its growing team. This role is ideal for a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) with a strong background in mechanical systems design for data centers or other high-reliability environments. The ideal candidate will bring technical expertise, leadership, and a passion for delivering innovative, resilient solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead mechanical engineering design for mission-critical facilities, including data centers and infrastructure upgrades
- Perform and review HVAC load calculations, energy modeling, and system sizing
- Develop construction documents, specifications, and equipment selections
- Coordinate with cross-disciplinary teams including electrical, architectural, and IT infrastructure
- Conduct site assessments, support commissioning, and provide construction administration
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to internal standards and best practices
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master's preferred)
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license required
- 8+ years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in mission-critical or commercial building sectors
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and mechanical design software
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems, controls, and energy efficiency strategies
- Excellent communication and project coordination skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
