Senior Mechanical Engineer

A full-service MEP/FP firm with a strong footprint in the Mid-Atlantic region is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join their team, primarily supporting federal sector projects. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex renovation and system upgrade projects, collaborate closely with clients, and contribute to mission-driven work in government and institutional facilities.

What You'll Do:

  • Solve client problems through innovative mechanical system design
  • Lead mechanical design and project management for renovation and new construction
  • Coordinate with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Proactively identify and resolve technical challenges
  • Build relationships with new and existing clients
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to staff
  • Help maintain our high referral rate and contract performance

What You Should Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Architectural Engineering (HVAC focus), Mechanical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering Technology
  • 8-15 years of HVAC design and construction administration experience
  • Experience with field surveys, code analysis, calculations, equipment selection, and specifications
  • Ability to lead integrated HVAC and plumbing system designs
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • PE license
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD or Revit and Microsoft Office
  • Ability to conduct full-day field surveys in various conditions, including walking, climbing ladders, and bending
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills
  • Motivation to mentor and manage project teams
  • Ability to obtain site access and travel up to 10 nights per year
