Senior Pipeline Engineer (Water / Wastewater | PE)

National Projects | Technical Leadership | Employee-Owned from Day One

We are a national, employee‑owned consulting engineering firm focused on delivering high-quality water and wastewater infrastructure solutions for public-sector clients across the U.S. Our practice emphasizes technical depth, practical design, and long-term client partnerships, enabling us to consistently deliver complex, high-impact projects at scale.

The firm continues to expand its national footprint, with particular momentum across the Eastern U.S. Our culture prioritizes engineering leadership, accountability, and hands-on expertise, allowing experienced engineers to make meaningful technical contributions without excessive layers of hierarchy.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a Senior Pipeline Engineer (PE) to serve as a technical leader in the planning, design, and delivery of water, wastewater, and reclaimed water conveyance systems. This individual will play a key role in shaping design standards, mentoring engineers, and supporting large, multi-disciplinary infrastructure programs nationwide.

This role is ideal for a senior engineer who wants to remain deeply technical, influence the direction of major projects, and take on increasing leadership responsibility-without stepping away from engineering excellence.

Flexible and remote work options are available, while remaining closely connected to nationally distributed project teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and perform design for large-diameter water and wastewater pipelines, force mains, gravity sewers, and pressure systems
  • Develop pipeline alignment studies, hydraulic modeling, and alternatives analyses
  • Prepare and review plans, profiles, technical specifications, and construction cost estimates
  • Support trenchless and open-cut pipeline design, including HDD, jack-and-bore, and microtunneling
  • Coordinate with geotechnical, structural, roadway, utility, and environmental disciplines
  • Provide construction-phase services including shop drawing review, RFIs, and construction support
  • Mentor and guide junior and mid-level engineers in conveyance design and best practices
  • Support proposal development and technical interviews through subject-matter expertise

Required Qualifications

  • Professional Engineer (PE) License
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering (or related discipline)
  • Significant experience in water and/or wastewater pipeline and conveyance design
  • Strong technical expertise in hydraulics, pipe materials, corrosion control, and constructability
  • Experience with industry-standard hydraulic and design software
  • Ability to serve as a technical authority and collaborate across multi-office project teams
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Career Path & Leadership Opportunity

  • Pathway into Principal Engineer, Technical Discipline Lead, or Project Management roles
  • Opportunity to influence firm-wide conveyance standards and technical practices
  • Participation in long-term succession and technical leadership planning
  • Visibility across nationally significant infrastructure programs

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive salary aligned with senior-level experience
  • 100% Employee Ownership (ESOP) beginning Day One
  • Flexible work arrangements, including remote and hybrid options
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k) retirement plan with employer contributions
  • Generous paid time off and holiday program
  • Ongoing professional development, conference attendance, and licensure support

Why Join?

  • Become an owner on your first day at a nationally growing firm
