Senior Plumbing Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Senior Plumbing Engineer / MEP Designer with strong expertise in Plumbing and Fire Protection systems. This role requires a detail-oriented professional capable of independently managing design tasks, coordinating across disciplines, and handling multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design Plumbing and Fire Protection systems from concept through construction documentation.
- Prepare calculations for water, gas, sanitary/sewer, and storm loads.
- Conduct field surveys and evaluate existing building conditions.
- Develop drawings, specifications, and all design phases (schematic through construction administration).
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and city agencies.
- Manage multiple projects concurrently and ensure timely delivery.
- Review shop drawings and actively participate in project meetings.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in Plumbing and/or Fire Protection design.
- Minimum 3 years of NYC-specific design experience.
- In-depth knowledge of NYC Building Codes, NYC Energy Conservation Code, and filing requirements.
- Familiarity with utility company filing procedures.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (Revit experience is a plus).
- Knowledge of NFPA-13, NFPA-13R, and hydraulic calculations.
- Experience with DEP cross-connection and site connection submissions strongly preferred.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines.
