Senior Project Engineer
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the overall engineering of assigned project including: plan preparation, permitting, reports, design, QA/QC of junior staff contributions, site visits, and meetings with client/contractors as needed.
- Consistently and accurately producing and/or overseeing professional design of subdivisions, grading plans, earthwork volumes and storm drainage calculations, design of utilities, including storm and sanitary sewers, paving, watermain, waterlines, waterline sizing, and street improvements.
- Responsible for the overall successful engineering of the project: Contract finalization/signature plan preparation, scheduling and communicating deliverables, obtaining and delivering required permitting, reports, etc. on time and within budget.
- QA/QC of junior staff contributions.
- Executes, encourages, and upholds established JSD Standards in all aspects of project design and deliverables.
- Verifies design computations and plan detailing for conformance with codes, manuals, and design considerations.
- Prepares correspondence, technical specifications and reports.
- Attends and participates at client and municipal meetings.
- Timely and respectfully communicates with project team members, client representatives, review agencies, and others as appropriate to project.
- Coordinates final design computations with review agencies and verifies implementation.
- Prepares opinions of cost, quantities, periodic reports, pay estimates, and data necessary to document acceptability of materials and quantities for final payment.

Essential Functions of Position:
- 6-8 hours a day on the computer.
- Must be able to safely drive a vehicle for meetings and site visits, occasionally for long distances.
- Physically able to meet OSHA regulations for being on an active construction site for site visits to active projects.
- Must be able to safely visit sites not yet under construction (outdoor conditions/terrain that may include: farmer fields, marshlands, flatlands, wooded areas) without accompaniment or supervision.
- Standing, walking, bending, squatting multiple times a day for up to 8 hours.
