A well-established consulting engineering firm is seeking a Senior Project Manager to help lead and grow its Water Resources practice in the Denver area. This role is ideal for an experienced professional who brings a strong technical background, established client relationships, and a proven track record delivering water resources projects throughout Colorado.

The successful candidate will play a key role in project execution, client management, business development, and mentoring junior staff. This position offers the opportunity to influence the direction of a growing practice while working on meaningful projects that impact communities across the Front Range.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage water resources projects from pursuit through completion
  • Lead multidisciplinary teams on drainage, stormwater, floodplain, and water infrastructure projects
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for municipal, county, drainage district, and private-sector clients
  • Develop project scopes, schedules, budgets, and staffing plans
  • Oversee preparation of technical studies, drainage reports, floodplain analyses, and design documents
  • Review and seal engineering deliverables as appropriate
  • Mentor and develop engineers and project managers
  • Support proposal efforts, interviews, and client development activities
  • Maintain and strengthen relationships with local agencies, municipalities, and stakeholders
  • Contribute to strategic growth initiatives within the Colorado market

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required
  • 10+ years of water resources engineering experience
  • 5+ years of project management experience
  • Demonstrated experience delivering projects in the Denver metro area and broader Colorado market
  • Strong understanding of Colorado drainage criteria, stormwater regulations, and floodplain requirements
  • Experience managing budgets, schedules, contracts, and client relationships
  • Strong communication and team leadership skills

  • Urban drainage and flood control projects
  • Stormwater master planning
  • Floodplain studies and FEMA-related work
  • Hydraulic and hydrologic modeling (HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, ICPR, SWMM, etc.)
  • Regional detention and conveyance systems
  • Municipal infrastructure and capital improvement projects
  • Business development and client management responsibilities
  • Existing relationships with Colorado municipalities, counties, drainage districts, and regulatory agencies
