A well-established consulting engineering firm is seeking a Senior Project Manager to help lead and grow its Water Resources practice in the Denver area. This role is ideal for an experienced professional who brings a strong technical background, established client relationships, and a proven track record delivering water resources projects throughout Colorado.
The successful candidate will play a key role in project execution, client management, business development, and mentoring junior staff. This position offers the opportunity to influence the direction of a growing practice while working on meaningful projects that impact communities across the Front Range.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage water resources projects from pursuit through completion
- Lead multidisciplinary teams on drainage, stormwater, floodplain, and water infrastructure projects
- Serve as a primary point of contact for municipal, county, drainage district, and private-sector clients
- Develop project scopes, schedules, budgets, and staffing plans
- Oversee preparation of technical studies, drainage reports, floodplain analyses, and design documents
- Review and seal engineering deliverables as appropriate
- Mentor and develop engineers and project managers
- Support proposal efforts, interviews, and client development activities
- Maintain and strengthen relationships with local agencies, municipalities, and stakeholders
- Contribute to strategic growth initiatives within the Colorado market
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required
- 10+ years of water resources engineering experience
- 5+ years of project management experience
- Demonstrated experience delivering projects in the Denver metro area and broader Colorado market
- Strong understanding of Colorado drainage criteria, stormwater regulations, and floodplain requirements
- Experience managing budgets, schedules, contracts, and client relationships
- Strong communication and team leadership skills

- Urban drainage and flood control projects
- Stormwater master planning
- Floodplain studies and FEMA-related work
- Hydraulic and hydrologic modeling (HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, ICPR, SWMM, etc.)
- Regional detention and conveyance systems
- Municipal infrastructure and capital improvement projects
- Business development and client management responsibilities
- Existing relationships with Colorado municipalities, counties, drainage districts, and regulatory agencies
