The Role
As a Senior Structural Engineer / Project Manager, you will manage and design structural systems for industrial facilities, overseeing projects from concept through construction completion. The role blends advanced technical execution with responsibility for budgets, schedules, multidisciplinary coordination, and client relationships.
You will serve as a key point of contact for clients, lead internal teams, and ensure projects are delivered efficiently, safely, and to the highest technical standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the structural design of industrial facilities, including systems using reinforced concrete, structural steel, and concrete masonry.
- Manage projects from proposal through construction completion, including scope definition, scheduling, budgeting, and resource planning.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, working closely with architects, MEP engineers, contractors, and owners.
- Serve as a primary client contact, providing technical leadership, clear communication, and trusted guidance throughout the project lifecycle.
- Oversee and review structural calculations, drawings, and construction documents to ensure quality, constructability, and code compliance.
- Perform and manage construction administration services, including site observations, shop drawing and submittal reviews, RFI responses, and issue resolution.
- Support business development efforts through client relationship building, proposal contributions, and repeat-work growth.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers, providing technical oversight and professional development support.
- Contribute to firm-wide initiatives focused on quality, efficiency, safety, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
- Typically 10-20+ years of experience in structural engineering, with significant experience delivering industrial projects.
- Strong technical background in industrial structural systems, including steel, concrete, and masonry.
- Demonstrated experience managing project budgets, schedules, and design teams.
- Proven ability to interface directly with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders.
- Proficiency with structural analysis and design software (e.g., RISA, SAP, STAAD, RAM, or similar).
- Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- Interest in long-term leadership, client development, and project delivery excellence.
