Senior Superintendent - Senior Living - Indianapolis
A well-established, vertically integrated development and construction organization is seeking an experienced Senior Superintendent to lead the field execution of large-scale senior living and active adult projects in the Indianapolis area.
This individual will serve as the on-site leader, responsible for driving schedule, safety, quality, and overall project performance from groundbreaking through turnover. The ideal candidate is a hands-on construction professional with a proven track record delivering complex multifamily, senior living, healthcare, or hospitality projects.
Responsibilities
- Provide overall on-site leadership for ground-up senior living and active adult construction projects.
- Manage all day-to-day field operations, including subcontractor coordination, scheduling, safety, quality control, and site logistics.
- Drive project schedules and proactively identify solutions to keep milestones on track.
- Lead subcontractor meetings and maintain strong relationships with trade partners.
- Coordinate closely with Project Managers, design teams, ownership groups, and local authorities.
- Ensure work is completed in accordance with project plans, specifications, and quality standards.
- Maintain a safe and productive jobsite environment.
- Oversee inspections, project documentation, punch lists, and final turnover activities.
- Mentor and develop Assistant Superintendents and field staff.
Requirements
- 10+ years of construction experience with at least 5 years in a Superintendent or Senior Superintendent role.
- Proven experience leading ground-up multifamily, senior living, active adult, healthcare, or hospitality projects.
- Strong understanding of scheduling, sequencing, site logistics, and construction means and methods.
- Experience managing projects valued at $30M+.
- Ability to lead large subcontractor teams and maintain accountability across all phases of construction.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with construction management software and scheduling platforms.

- Wood-frame over podium construction.
- Large-scale multifamily developments with structured parking.

- Experience managing projects from site development through final occupancy.
