Senior Traffic Engineer
Requirements
- B.S. in Civil or Transportation Engineering
- PE license required
- 5+ years of traffic engineering or transportation planning experience, preferably with DOT projects
- Experience with traffic studies, transportation analysis, and project coordination
- Strong knowledge of HCM, MUTCD, AASHTO, and DOT standards
- Proficiency with Synchro, Excel, and OpenRoads; experience with HCS, SIDRA, VISSIM, ArcGIS, CUBE, or TransCAD is a plus
- Strong communication, client-facing, and relationship-building skills
Responsibilities
- Lead and support traffic engineering studies, including traffic impact analyses, safety evaluations, signal timing, access management, corridor studies, and forecasting projects
- Prepare technical reports, plans, specifications, and project documentation
- Review engineering calculations, plans, and cost estimates
- Coordinate with clients, agencies, consultants, and internal teams
- Assist with project management, including scope development, schedules, and budgets
- Mentor junior engineers and technical staff
- Develop presentations and materials for clients, stakeholders, and public meetings
