Position Overview
The Transportation Design Project Manager will lead transportation and roadway design projects from planning through delivery. The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise, project management experience, and a collaborative leadership style. This individual will oversee project execution, mentor junior staff, maintain client relationships, and ensure the successful delivery of high-quality engineering solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage multiple transportation design projects from concept through completion.
- Ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within scope, and within budget.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, project partners, and internal team members.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders throughout all phases of project delivery.
- Delegate tasks appropriately and provide mentorship to engineering staff.
- Provide technical leadership and quality control throughout the design process.
- Lead project reviews and ensure compliance with applicable standards and specifications.
- Participate in the development of proposals, qualifications packages, and project pursuits.
- Resolve project challenges with sound engineering judgment and professionalism.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- Minimum of 8 years of civil engineering project experience.
- Strong background in transportation or roadway design engineering.
- Proficiency with CAD and BIM software platforms.
- Demonstrated project management and client relationship experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of progressive roadway design experience.
- Experience with DOT and municipal transportation projects.
- Familiarity with project contracts, specifications, and PS&E development.
- Experience performing quality assurance and quality control reviews.
- Experience developing project scopes and budgets.
- Ability to apply field and construction experience to design decisions.
