About the Project
A large water/wastewater contractor is leading the rebuild and expansion of one of the largest water treatment plants in Central Texas, serving the growing needs of the City of Austin. We are seeking a Senior Water Treatment Plant Superintendent to oversee the construction-phase, commissioning, and transition to full-scale operation. This is a high-impact leadership role on a multi-year, multi-million-dollar infrastructure project.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise all on-site construction activities related to water treatment systems, including civil, mechanical, and electrical scopes.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and city representatives to ensure timely and compliant execution.
- Oversee installation, testing, and commissioning of treatment equipment and control systems.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols, environmental regulations, and quality standards.
- Manage daily reporting, scheduling, and resource planning.
- Support training and handover to City of Austin operations staff upon project completion.
Qualifications
Required:
- 10+ years of experience in water/wastewater treatment plant construction.
- Proven leadership in large-scale infrastructure plant projects, preferably municipal or public works.
- Strong knowledge of water treatment processes, SCADA systems, and regulatory compliance.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and construction schedules.
- OSHA 30 certification or equivalent safety training.
Preferred:
- Texas Class A Water Operator License or equivalent experience.
- Experience with CMAR or design-build delivery methods.
- Familiarity with TCEQ standards and permitting processes.
