Role Summary
This is a senior‑level opportunity for a Natural Gas Siting & Permitting Project Manager to lead large, complex energy infrastructure projects across the Southeast. The role focuses on managing regulatory strategy, multidisciplinary teams, and client relationships for natural gas transmission and midstream facilities. You'll serve as a trusted advisor to major energy clients while guiding projects through federal and state approval processes from early planning through construction.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead siting and permitting efforts for natural gas transmission and midstream infrastructure projects.
- Manage federal, state, and local environmental permitting, including FERC‑related approvals and NEPA compliance.
- Coordinate routing studies, environmental surveys, technical documentation, and permit applications.
- Act as the primary client contact, providing regulatory strategy, risk assessment, and schedule oversight.
- Collaborate closely with engineers, scientists, land teams, and regulatory agencies.
- Manage project budgets, schedules, and subcontractors to ensure successful delivery.
- Support construction‑phase compliance, environmental monitoring, and post‑construction reporting.
- Contribute to business development efforts and long‑term client growth initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Planning, Engineering, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience supporting natural gas or linear energy infrastructure projects.
- Strong working knowledge of NEPA, FERC processes, Clean Water Act, Endangered Species Act, and state permitting frameworks.
- Demonstrated experience managing complex, multidisciplinary projects.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead client interactions and regulatory discussions.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a remote, fast‑paced consulting environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Consulting experience focused on natural gas transmission or midstream infrastructure.
- Experience with route selection studies, construction support, and compliance monitoring.
- Familiarity with energy transition projects, including renewable natural gas or adjacent energy infrastructure.
- Experience supporting proposals, client development, or regional growth initiatives.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary range: $100,000 - $180,000, depending on experience.
