Stormwater PM

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare H&H models (1D & 2D), water quality modeling, geospatial evaluations, design plans, specifications, and cost estimates.

  • Support civil, drainage, stormwater projects, FEMA flood studies, and capital improvement projects.

  • Conduct system flow analysis for drainage, surface waters, flood risk, and mitigation alternatives.

  • Perform design, inspection, and review for storm sewer line replacement, facility retrofits, and bridge scour studies.

  • Address local, state, and federal flood management regulations and provide permit support.

  • Assist in preparing bid documents and managing the bid process for rehabilitation and capital projects.

  • Participate in fieldwork, site visits, and data collection under varying weather conditions.

Qualifications:

  • BS in Civil Engineering or related field, PE license in North Carolina or ability to obtain it.

  • 10+ years of experience in water resources and stormwater/flood mitigation design and regulations.

  • Experience in stream restoration, wetlands, stormwater control measures, municipal design, green/gray infrastructure.

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office; familiarity with HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, ESRI ArcGIS.

  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment; willingness to travel (25% local).

  • Must pass a drug screen, background check, and have a satisfactory driving record.

Preferred:

  • MS in Civil Engineering or related field.

  • Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM).

  • Experience with FEMA flood studies, stormwater hydrology, and infrastructure permitting/design.
